Russian Figure Skating Championship

The Russian Figure Skating Championships, organized by the Figure Skating Federation, will be held in Omsk from December 19 to 22.

The annual competition includes performances by singles, ice dancing, and pairs. This event plays an important role for athletes, as the results influence the formation of the national team that represents Russia at international competitions of various levels.

A limited number of athletes participate in the championship: 18 men and the same number of women in singles, 15 pairs in ice dancing, and only 12 pairs in pairs. The best figure skaters of the country perform at this competition.

At different times, the title of Russian Champion was received by a whole list of famous figure skaters, including Maria Butyrskaya, Sofia Akateva, Irina Slutskaya, Anna Shcherbakova, Evgenia Medvedeva, Adelina Sotnikova, Alina Zagitova, Adelia Petrosyan, Alexandra Trusova. The Russian Championship is usually held in winter, at the end of December or the beginning of January.

In different years, the competition was held in Saransk, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Sochi, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg. Omsk will host the championship final, and the G-Drive Arena sports complex will be the venue.

The following will compete in the men's singles: Mark Kondratyuk, Evgeny Semenenko, Vladislav Dikidzhi, Makar Ignatov. Among the women, impressive results were achieved by: Elizaveta Kulikova, Maria Agaeva, Ksenia Sinitsyna, Sofia Muravyova.
