Anniversary of Eteri Tutberidze

The Honored Coach of Russia and Master of Sports of the USSR, awarded the International Skating Union Prize as the best coach, celebrated her anniversary on February 24. Over the long period of her coaching activity, she has raised many outstanding athletes who achieve success in Russian and world competitions. Among their number — Olympic medalists, World and European champions.

Eteri Georgievna worked with such Olympic champions as Yulia Lipnitskaya, Alina Zagitova, Evgenia Medvedeva, Anna Shcherbakova, Alexandra Trusova, as well as European champion Alena Kostornaya. Since 2015/2016, only Tutberidze’s students have become winners of the Russian championships in women’s single skating. Eteri Georgievna stands out not only as a coach, but also as a talented choreographer.

In 2019, Tutberidze created a unique show called “Champions on Ice.” The peculiarity of this show is that it is the only one in Russia where athletes present their competitive and demonstration programs, rather than theatrical performances. The show involves Tutberidze's students, as well as athletes in ice dancing and pair skating.

"Champions on Ice" are not limited to Moscow and St. Petersburg, but every year after the official competitions they begin a grand tour of Russian cities. The best athletes can be seen in Samara, Krasnodar, Vladivostok, Omsk, Kazan, Ufa and many other cities. In 2024, “Champions on Ice” will start in Chelyabinsk on March 30, will travel through 12 cities of the country and end its tour on April 30 in Cheboksary.

From October 30 to November 2, 2026, the Kristall Arena will host the third leg of the Russian Grand Prix of Figure Skating. The Krasnoyarsk tournament will offer spectators spectacular performances and intense competition.

The Nevsky Ice tournament, the second stage of the Russian Grand Prix, will be held in St. Petersburg

From October 22 to 26, 2026, the Yubileiny sports complex will host the Nevsky Ice tournament. The second stage of the Russian Figure Skating Grand Prix will continue the fight of the country's strongest athletes to reach the finals of the series.

3 August

The first leg of the Russian Grand Prix, "Ice Rhapsody," will be held in Nizhny Novgorod.

The "Ice Rhapsody" tournament will open the 2026/2027 Russian Grand Prix of Figure Skating season from October 16 to 19. The country's best athletes will present new programs and begin their quest for a spot in the final.
