Results of the Russian Grand Prix figure skating competition series

In the 2024/25 season, the competition will be held in five stages, which will be organized in various cities of Russia: Magnitogorsk, Krasnoyarsk, Kazan, Moscow and St. Petersburg. The final competition will be held from February 14 to 16, 2025 in Novosibirsk, at the arena of the hockey club "Sibir". An additional sixth stage in Moscow is provided for juniors. Each participant can perform in no more than two stages. Based on the results of their performances, candidates for participation in the Russian championship and the national championship, which will begin next year, will be determined. The Grand Prix will be the first step on this path.

Most of the stages have already been completed, and of the 15 best pairs selected to participate in the 2025 Russian Championship, representatives of 10 different coaching schools can be identified, which speaks to the diversity and strength of the domestic school of figure skating. Among the new participants are seven debuting duets, which became a pleasant surprise of the competition. Once again, the duets under the guidance of coach Alexander Zhulin won both stages: Ekaterina Mironova and Evgeny Ustenko took first place, Anna Shcherbakova and Egor Goncharov took second place, and Elizaveta Pasechnik and Dario Cinzano, who were predicted to win gold, took third place.

In women's singles skating, athletes from Eteri Tutberidze's group dominated: Adelia Petrosyan, Daria Sadkova, Anna Frolova, Alina Gorbacheva, Veronika Yametova and Ksenia Gushchina won medals. Among the men, the students of Alexei Mishin, Zhenya Semenenko and Gleb Lutfullin, as well as Svetlana Sokolovskaya's students, including Mark Kondratyuk and Grigory Fedorov, stood out.

Of the total 125 medals, 26 were won by athletes from Tutberidze's group, confirming its leadership. However, there is still the final ahead, which promises the spectators exciting and spectacular performances. This is especially important in conditions when Russian figure skaters have not been able to participate in international competitions for almost three years. For many, this has become a serious test. In addition, Kamila Valieva, suspended from competition for four years due to a doping scandal after the Tokyo Olympics, can only watch her colleagues for now. Her disqualification will end only next year.
