In Moscow on the ice of the CSKA Arena On December 7 and 8, 2024, junior figure skating competitions will be held under the auspices of Channel One.
The Figure Skating Federation introduced a new competition format for young athletes, introduced in 2023. For the second year in a row, young athletes will participate in the Channel One Junior Cup as part of two teams, including singles in men's and women's skating, sports pairs and dance duets. Currently, our athletes cannot take part in international competitions.
Tickets to the Channel One Junior Figure Skating Cup are an opportunity to meet young and promising athletes and see Russian ice stars. Last year, athletes learned about the Cup just 3 weeks before the start, but this did not affect the quality of the event. The clear organization of the tournament, active media coverage, a significant prize fund and transparent rules made the Channel One Cup one of the most exciting events of the season.
Last year, Artem Frolov was the captain of the first team, and Arseny Fedotov wore the captain's armband for the second team. The skaters were divided into two teams: purple and orange. Each of them had their own mentor - a famous figure skater. The role of presenters was transferred to famous athletes - Kamila Valieva and Maxim Trankov. During the tournament, legendary skaters took to the ice: Alina Zagitova, Maxim Trankov, Kamila Valieva, Anna Shcherbakova, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, Mark Kondratyuk, Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov, demonstrating their performances.
